WTVF, Nashville, Tenn. 08/01/11   State: TN   From the American Rifleman Issue: 8/2/2011   A 68-year-old grandmother was at home with her husband who uses a wheelchair in Nashville, Tenn., when two armed burglars used a crowbar to break into her house. After becoming aware of the home invasion, the woman retrieved a .410 shotgun she keeps by her bed and fired at the criminals, striking both and causing them to flee. The intruders, along with two suspected accomplices, were later captured while seeking treatment at a local hospital. Past guests to the home had laughed upon seeing the shotgun by the woman’s bed, but now she is receiving praise for her actions. Recalling one well-wisher, the woman stated with a laugh, “One of them said ‘Go Granny Go.’ I don’t consider myself old, but apparently everyone else does.”
